"It's the exact same old tissue, honey, it does not make a difference, ok? It's still going to work the exact same way", my exasperated other half hissed into my ear as I got containers after containers of some 'designer' tissue. DESIGNER TISSUE! Hah, can you even hear me state that? I can't think I in fact composed 'designer tissue'. So, yes, for a graphic designer and author who understands all about the kind of effort one puts into product packaging and branding items, I sure succumbed to it. All the hoopla. The shenanigans. The 'draw 'em in with excellent copy and fab color combination'. Hey, I am still a consumer, keep in mind that. I am entitled to succumb to nice product packaging, I have a prevailing right to be human.

But they are so quite ... the packaging. I swear!

They have the 'nature fan' product packaging, the 'fruity' product packaging, the 'female on the go' packaging, and after that they have the 'kids' packaging. I grabbed 4 of each design bundles and made a run for the counter with them with my yelling kids and exasperated hubby pursuing me in slow movement. It was absolutely a 'die-hard' minute. You understand, when the hero is escaping from a bunch of wild bad men with gatling gun, and they're shooting at your feet or something ... and there's a surge behind you ... and everything occurs in ssslllloooowwwww mmmmooooottttttiiiioooonnnnn.

Well, in this case, I was running for checkout with boxes of tissue paper with expensive packaging styles on them. I loved the product packaging creates so much, after using up all the tissues in the boxes, I would cut out the styles and put it into my 'needs to keep for reference' clear folder. I don't keep a lot of things in there due to the fact that I am quite selective about the designs that I like, but these product packaging styles made the cut.

You see, this is the kind of thing that takes place when you put some effort into making your packaging style. Yeah, we all have this in the back of our heads ... "Hey, it's PACKAGING! They're going to THROW the PACKAGING away.

However this is what I need to tell you, as a graphic designer and customer. The more effort you put into creating your product packaging, more customers will take a look check here and stop at your product packaging or what's inside the product packaging. Now, does it make sense for me to state now that when they take and stop notice of your product packaging, your here possibility of getting them to purchase your item increases? Precisely.

You see, the role of product packaging is to get the customer's attention. And without an electrifying packaging, customers are going to walk past the loads and heaps of other competitor products ... and yours ... without even knowing you're there! Your item is sitting there on a rack, for goodness sake, and the only weapon you have is to have a good packaging. Once they take a look and stop, you've won the first round.

Think of it!
